POD #7 (A day late)

"Houston, We have a Problem"

You can assume that when the blog is not posted between 9pm and midnight something is up. I spent the whole night at Michael's bedside dealing with pain issues. I felt like I was back in residency again. They were unsuccessful in putting his NG tube back in to control pain and nausea. He is on his way back into the CT Scanner as we speak. They want to check the biliary tree (gallbladder and liver) as well as look for small bowel obstruction (which can be common after such major surgery). Most likely the treatment is all the same "a tincture of time".

I will update you all later today on the CT findings. For now nothing is going in Michael's mouth. And yes, the spaghetti did stay down but I'm not sure when it is going to come out.

Sending our Love,
Dawn & Kids

Your blog is wonderful. I hope it provides a small amount of healing for you, as you post and read what your family and friends are saying. My son Andrew, is in Winter's class. He has mentioned that Winter's dad was sick. When I discovered that he was indeed ill, I felt the urge to reach out to you somehow. Andrew adores Winter and she is a direct reflection of her parents. Winter this, Winter that! "Mom! Winter is on the internet!" - as he shows me his google search and there she is, running in a marathon. How precious! While we have never met, please know that you truly, truly are in our prayers. Andrew and I wish Michael well. Prayer is powerful, and you have a big group pulling together for you. May God bestow his gift of healing upon Michael. Karen & Andrew Campbell - Boyne Falls

Michael,
Spaghetti has been my favorite food since I was a little girl. I will never be able to eat it again without thinking of you and all you have gone through. Hopefully today's CT scan brings about some positive answers. I will keep checking in for blog updates. Thank you again Dawn for keeping us so well informed.
Love, Patty

I was wondering why there was no blog.. but was hoping that things were on the upside of "get out of jail card" ? You must have hit the Go back to jail space :) Never did like that game. Chin up though and keep tossing those dice. You're bound to get some luck.

Love Tanya and the Dandeneau's
PS the sun is peeking out and 60 degrees today.

We are all hoping for a good outcome from the CT scan. Don't worry about getting back to Michigan because the weather is not that great. I'm sorry Michael is having so much pain. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day. Sharon and I are thinking of you and the family. We hope you can come home soon.
3-11 shift-deptartment closed-all are waiting for you. I think you should go to Mall of America and get some of those shoes with the skate wheels on the bottom for when you get back.

Hope this is minor and very temporary.Dawn don't worry you won't be missing Friday lunch this week I won't be bringing lunch in until you are back to share it with us.

Dawn & Michael,

Tincture of time is one of the hardest remedies to wait for, especially when you feel so awful. Allen and I will pray for this setback to resolve as quickly as possible. I am so sorry that your family has to travel this difficult road. You are all amazingly strong, physically and mentally, which I hope will serve you well as Michael continues to recover.
God bless you all. You will be in our prayers.
